USS FITZGERALD (DDG 62) is the twelfth platform of the Arleigh Burke Class guided missile destroyers. The mission

FITZGERALD is to conduct prompt, sustained combat operations at sea in support of U.S. national policy. Equipped

with the world's most sophisticated weapon system, FITZGERALD is able to operate in a high density, multi-threat

environment as an integral member of a carrier battle group, surface action group or underway replenishment group.

Powered by four quick-response GE LM-2500 Gas Turbine engines, FITZGERALD is capable of speeds in excess

of over thirty knots. Home to a crew of 330, FITZGERALD is a small town at sea, complete with a barber shop, post

office, ship's store, laundry facilities and ATM.
